Real Women Have Curves

But it seems grad students have even bigger ones.

I got a freaking B+ in Stats...seriously...I don't get it.

What's even funnier is that people keep telling me, "See, you must have understood more than you think." For the record, that line doesn't even make sense.

I don't get the grading system at all (not that grad school is really about grades). I received a 8.33 out of 10 for participation. HUH? Maybe if I had raised my hand once more that could have gone up to a 8.42. Damn me for being so stupid.

The saving grace--and you know how much it pains me to say this--was the group projects. Our math nerd did most of them since the rest of us didn't understand them. We aced everyone of them and they were worth 25% of the grade.

Oh well. Most important is that the hardest class is over. Only 6 more classes this semester and we break for three weeks. I can hardly wait.

i had four years of crazy curves in undergrad(scored 17/100 on an exam worth 33% of the grade and got a B+ in the class). still have nightmares about that stuff. glad to find out I'm not the only one who finds it incomprehensible...

I would simply never, ever think about it again.

Yeah, I'm with Rich - it's not worth it. Grades don't count in grad school: you passed the class - take that and run with it.

Stats is always something that on the surface seemed like it should be so easy...that it should make sense, but then you get to class and--OMG!

Seriously, we just don't need to know all of that to survive in life.

Way to go curves!! I think that might be my new name for you now--Curves.

I remember when I received a B+ in my Stats class I was thrilled! The mode, median, etc.... The nice thing is I do actually get to use it at my job so it was a worthwhile class. Good luck to you Steve. I know how difficult it is to work and go to grad school.

That's not bad.

My wife is taking 'OB' and 'Quant' (don't ask me what they mean) and she's usually the one doing all the work on the group projects because the other "kids" are practically just out of college for their undergrad and have nothing to contribute.

How annoying....

Congrats. You must have thought more than you understood.
