Chili Con Carne

I had the pleasure of having lunch today with Mrs. Chili.

How did I do that given she lives in New England where it snowed this morning? She had a 3-hour layover in Washington National Airport on her way down south to visit two other bloggers.

We totally sat and chatted for hours at TGI Fridays, which if you think about it was completely apropos. (It helped that my boss was off today.)

I will say this every time I meet a blogger, but damned if they aren't as wonderful in person as they are online. We talked about work, spouses, kids, our inability to figure out personalized blog URLs, and much more. Chili and I originally connected through Rich and laughed about how we were meeting, but neither of us had met him yet.

Before I knew it, she had a flight to catch and I had to get back in order to turn off my computer and go home.

Chili, it was a pleasure. I look forward to your visit.

So....when are the rest of you coming to DC?

Ahem. I live here.

Better not have been the TGIF in Rosslyn. I work across the street.

It would be nice to do a grand tour of america one day, visiting all different bloggers. Perhaps when I win the lottery.

Steve, I've got to tell you; I'm STILL a little high from spending that time with you. I SO enjoyed myself - thank you so much for agreeing to spend an afternoon in an airport, for crying out loud - and I'm very much looking forward to seeing you again; this time with our families, the next time we're in DC (or, of course, you could come to Boston. Hint, hing..)

LOVE!

Chili

Hey! That's not fair!

You and Chili have to fly to New York NOW.

Thank you.

So far in 3 years I've only met 2 bloggers in person. But I guess I would increase my odds if I ever left my house. But still...
