Mr. Big Dubya, one of my favorite reads and a guy who has an incredible taste in music, posted a winner over at Dadcentric. Lullabys for kids that are actually hard rock songs. Who thinks up these amazing products?
Fuck the Wheels on the Bus or Itsy Bitsy Spider; put your kid to sleep with Enter Sandman, Communication Breakdown or Smells Like Teen Spirit. Fifteen groups from Metallica to Coldplay to Led Zepplin can grace your child's nursery.
The marketing copy is just as brilliant; "This evening, your child’s journey consists of a delicate dreamscape woven by the heavens and forged by the hammer of the gods." I know one mother who'd have been first in line to buy these when her twins were born.
So that's my plug todayfor someone else's column. Nice find!
Maybe next year, they can rock out to GnR and AC/DC.

Several years ago, singing a song was part of my toddler's bedtime routine. Imagine my pride when I asked what song she wanted to hear and she said "Crazy Train." That Ozzy really knows how to get to the kids.
We never played kids music in the car. We just made CD's of songs with a good beat and no cursing (they'd hear enough of that from mom and dad). We put a picture of them as the cover and then we'd tell them it was their CD. They were so trusting then.
Dissing Itsy bitsy spider and Wheels on the bus, I thought I knew you. This Rock N"Roll is corrupting our youth.
You know that you listen to way too much "alternative" music when your two year olds sing "Zombie" by the Cranberries better than the group does. Plus, it's a little unnerving to listen to.
How is it even possible that I don't own this already?
We only own Punk Rock Baby.
At least now everyone knows what to get me for my birthday.
I must thank you for the props - both on the column and the fact that you think I have a good taste in music - I've always thought I was pretty white bread - Wonder Bread - but white bread nonetheless. So...thanks
