The Mile High Club

Heading out to Denver for a conference this weekend and won't be posting until Wednesday. Yes, that's right... I'm one of the few people in this world who still doesn't have a laptop. I didn't need one for the last job since I read books at my desk and built my web site didn't travel.

But that will be changing with this job so a new laptop is on the way. Sometimes it's easy to become complacent with what you have. Technology has a habit of passing us by at our house. We're still not wireless and we don't have TIVO yet. Our TV's are over 15 years old. And we still have a home phone number, unlike many friends who've gone just to cell phones.

So the next time I travel, you won't be noticing an interruption in the service you've come to expect. And if you're pissed that I won't be posting for the next four days... well then, you should have bought me a laptop.

my family is slow to get the new technology. You do tend to get used to what you have and get by with it. But its fun when you do make the technology jump. We have a DVR on our cable box and it rules and i just recently got my own laptop. Its so fun. But we still have a home phone as well as cell phones. But i refused to upgrade my phone to a new Picture Phone. No need i said. ;) plus i didnt want to shell out the money when mine worked just fine.

I want to know how I get that job where you read books at your desk and work on your web page. I could really groove on that.

Also, FYI, I think they call a "home telephone number" a "land line" as opposed to the "cell."

Hey, my husband and I don't even have CABLE much less Tivo. We are viewed as freaks. Literally, our friends shy away from us in conversation. Plus we have landlines. Oh, and the icing on the cake, we have a car that you have to MANUALLY ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN. AND MANUALLY UNLOCK/LOCK THE DOORS. Fancy buttons cost money man! Plus, we have bulging biceps now from all the physical activity:-)

No laptop *gasp*. I rarely travel for work but I bring my laptop on every trip. I too addicted to internet to leave home without it.

Have a nice trip
